We've Been on an African Safari

Come along on our safari through the Big Cats Sanctuary.
Here we are looking from our jeep window at this fierce tiger. When Michael posed his camera at him, he lunged for our jeep with his mouth wide open!

There were about four white tigers we viewed. They were beautiful!

This tiger was quite friendly and curious.

Here is a jaguar. His coloring was amazing.

This leopard has dark spots you can see if you look for them.

No worries or cares for this big cat.

The lions were so attentive to we who were there to observe them. This one had a mate. He seemed devoted to her and there to protect her.

We didn't go to Africa, but we did see about 30 Big Cats and some bears that are being housed in a wonderful sanctuary outside of Boyd, Texas. They take in these animals after they have been abandon, or rescued. They all have nice large areas with trees, ponds, stairs and shelters. Each animal had its own special toy or ball. One of the tigers loved his tire and kept it close by. They have to feed the cats hundreds of pounds of whole beef each day. We gained a deep appreciation of the beauty and wildness of these creatures and how time comsuming it is to take care of something that was created to exist in the wild.
