Jared"s B-Day and the Slip & Slide

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JARED All he wanted was some smoked meat, a yummy cake (and Blue Bell) and a homemade slip & slide.
First you have to purchase a long piece of heavy duty plastic. It helps to have a Grandpa who knows how to help.

Did I mention it was long. Maybe 75 feet.

It took 48 of these noodles to make the bumpers for the sides. They used velcro to place them.

The "boss" walking the site. You can see one side is in place, the other needs its noodles. We should have all used our own noodles before we agreed to go down the slide.

Positioning the stakes at the end. Something needs to be there to stop the slidder before he goes into the bushes.

This is what they put at the end of the slide. A pool full of little kids.

Let the fun begin! Here goes Ethan. He just seemed to fly down the slide. Never hesitated.

Colin perferred to walk the slippery slide. Did I mention Jared covered each slider with bubbles so you could go faster.

Nathan and Ethan doing a double decker.

Grandpa got out this rope and used it to give a good headstart to the ride.

Christy doing a wipe-out on Colin. Christy went down the slide so gracefully. She was fun to watch.

Shelby came to the party in her beautiful tutu.
Eating smoked brisket, ribs and sausage that Jared smoked in his smoker. It was delicious.

The beautiful cake Jamie made for Jared. Christy gave him a cool Texas Ranger shirt, Mom gave him a bag of treats including beef jerkey and some candy. Grandpa helped make the slip & slide happen. Nathan and Nicole gave him a cool shirt and a great birthday card.
Happy Birthday to Jared. Glad you had such a great idea on your 26th birthday.
