Dad and Mom Take a Trip/Corpus Christy and Choke Canyon

At Corpus Christy on the Gulf of Mexico. This marker marks the spot where troops landed during the Spanish American War where afterwards Texas became a territory. It was so wonderful to be back near the ocean. I love the smell, the ocean breeze and the look of water you see afar/

The Texas State Aquarium sits on the edge of the ocean. We watch a good dolphin show.

This is an actual jelly fish. They were so beautiful to watch. They had several kinds there to observe. I've read that they can be as big as a bed. Beautiful, but harmful.

Dad and I love bridges and this was a wonderful expansion bridge which connects Corpus to another area.

This is a replica of one of Columbus' boats. It was amazing to view it and realize what people used in 1492 to cross the immense ocean. This boat was for sale.

Grandpa and the old boat.

The ocean. It was a beautiful and sunny day. I just stood there for a while and watched the waves come up. I also picked up some shells which were all very worn from the effects of the water rolling over them. We've lived in Texas for obout 35 years and I never knew I loved the ocean so much. I can't wait to go back to Galveston, Corpus or maybe Padre Island.

We camped in South Texas and this was the sign near the lake we took our canoe in. We didn;t see any, but it was scary to put your oar in the water.

We had fun directing our canoe through these trees with all the birds handing around.

The campgrouds were a kind of bird avairy and we could see a variety of birds.

I got a picture of this bird hiding out. It looks pretty big and it was fun to see them take flight.

This was a gorgeous sun set that we experienced for over an hour. The colors in the sky would shange. It is so good to get out in nature and see the sunset, the sunrise, the stars and be reminded that we live on a beautiful world, created for all of us.
