We started the 4th out on this 4 wheeled bike.
They put on a terrific airshow that went on for hours.
We watched as they did all kinds of tricks over the Mississippi.
Dad knows what this plane is. It flew in and the hoovered over the crowds. Very loud and impressive.
After 106 degrees all day on the fourth, we headed for the nearest cave. It was a huge cave with big rooms and an underground river. So told, Jesse James hid out here. They also made bullets here during the Civil War.
This boat sat off the shore all day on the 4th. We didn't ride on this one, but we did go on a smaller boat for a ride on the Mississippi River.
Back to some cave pictures. There were lots of formations to view inside the cave.
Inside the cave in my other new shirt.
Dad and inside the cave.
This was an interesting formation. It was called the grape room because everything looked like clusters of grapes.
This is a formation with legs
A picture of how water seeps above and below ground to form these unusual cave formations.
This room was so beautiful. The picture doesn't show how gorgeous the formations were to observe.
Outside we noticed this zip line. I would love to see our family meet in St. Louis and do the zipline.
Our last day we spent time in a super science museum.
A dinosaur egg fossil.
A map of how the internet connections looked in the 1980's.
This is the same area, only nowdays. It was interesting to know that the Uof U was an early site.
Did you know that a machine just like this is heading to Mars and will touchdown on August 6th?
Here is Dad and I standing under the year 1971, the year we were married. We saw lots of things related to space that we remembered experiencing. We are now officially antiques/
