So, what do two 60+, empty nesters do after busy week of school, noise and stress? We jump in the van (we keep the campbox on all week) and we head out of town. Dad hooks on his bike rack and his fancy bike, and Mom grabs a few things and off we go. On Halloween weekend we left home so we wouldn't have to give out candy. We made our first every trip to Trader's Village in Grand Prarie. It is a big junk open market. We camped at Cedar Hill and traveled on the 8 mile road that crosses over the lake. Dad rides his bike and I walk/jog. It is open only to bikers and walkers and it is quiet and refreshing.
This weekend we went again. We made a new discovery. Sherdians Custard. Go to http://www.sherdiancustard/. This is a place to die for. We went off our very strict diets and we enjoyed every spoonful. I'm going way out on a limb here but, it was better than Blue Bell! So it's a good thing we did our trek on the trail beforehand. Afterwards we went to visit Penn Farm. You get to walk around and see all the old pioneer outbuildings and equiptment. There's a working windmill too. I lost my camera recharger, so no pictures.
Happy Birthday to Thomalee, Caleb and Nathan and Colin! We're getting excited for Thanksgiving Break and our next camping adventure. MOM
