Christmas at The Drury Holtel in San Antonio

It started snowing on Christmas Eve when we left to catch the train. The train was delayed 4 hours. So we went home and got in the van. It became our sleigh. Dad had to keep reaching out the window to get the ice off the wipers. Heidi watched Polar Express, Mom listened to The Messiah and Christy slept. We drove two hours in a blizzard and then there was nothing but clear roads.
This is a portion of the lobby of the Drury Hotel. Heidi and Dad waiting for the rest of us.

Jackson in front of the lobby Christmas tree. We felt like the only ones there on Christmas Eve, but it filled up after that.

The hotel used to be a bank and it has lots of gold trimming and ornate features like this stained glass window. You could acutally walk pass and view the vault.

This is a view of the catherdal across the streeet from our 12th floor balcony. Dad went with me to midnight mass on Christmas Eve. There was some singing and some incense and lots of Latin.

Heidi and Jackson enjoy the hot tub on the top of the 25th floor. It was sunny and beautiful on Christmas Day. Others in the group were taking a nap.

Grandma and Jackson had the hot tub to themselves on Christmas morning.

A view of the room and the walk out balcony. It was so great! This is where we gathered together to play games and sing Christmas songs.

Doesn't this look inviting, our own jaquzzi tub with a view. It was hugh.

Another picture of the room. Dad didn't want me to forget how fancy he had it.

The pool on the roof. Jared, Jamie, Christy and Heidi would have a race by jumping out of the hot tub then swimming across the pool and back and then hopping back in the tub. I don't know who won, but is sounds adventuresome.

The view of the catherdral and the city from the roof top. It was a fun hotel.
