The Dallas Rock Show

On the weekend that Lane was born, we had Jackson and Colin for one whole day and we took them to this rock show in Dallas. We didn't know how great is was going to be for all of us.
This is the only moment Colin was standing still. He loved the rocks, but he liked bolting away from Grandpa on a dead run even more.

Jackson was very into all the exhibits. He liked everything.

Colin grabbed and Jackson took a long time to find his perfect free rock.

Jackson is holding some kind of fossilized piece from a tentacle of a ancient sea creature.

Colin is fenced in by some other rock hounds.

Colin exploring the inside of crystallized volcanic rock. It was amazing.

Jackson looking at crystals.
This is a giant geode.

Someone has taken photos of actual rocks and then presented them as artwork for framing. These were cool to look at.
Rocks cut and polished and set out to purchase as artwork.

Jackson standing next to black rock which is actually petrified wood from East Texas. Each rock was filled with tiny round crystals.

Rocks cut and polished as perfect spheres.

Everyone knows how much Colin loves balls. He tried to take this one home.

An alligator with a turtle in his mouth.

The actual skin of an anaconda laid out on the lenghth of this table. Wow!
We had a great time at this rock show. I took lots of pictures of rocks they had on display and used them on my blog for school. It was interesting to see rocks from all around the world. Some were unbelieveably unique and beautiful. Since Pres. Monsons's talk on gratitude, I am even more grateful for all the beautiful creations we enjoy on this Earth. I love rocks!
