This is the condo we stayed at. Second Floor, second room. You could hear, see and smell the ocean from the balcony. There were several of these ocean front condos along the 26 miles of Galveston Island.

Dad surprised me with this gorgeous bouquet of flowers. There were at least 40 flowers, one for every year. It had so many different kinds of flowers, a reflection of all the different experiences 40 years together brings. I loved these flowers! I asked him if we were going to the diamond shop, but he must not have heard me. Maybe next year.

Our Anniversary Brownies with palm trees, ocean and sand.

We walked along the beach on our way to breakfast. The wind was blowing hard the whole time we were there. It made for some funny hairdos.

Dad and the ocean and the wind.

People on the beach and the seagulls flying over top. I really don't know how those beach umbrellas stayed in the ground with the strong winds.

Our trip on the Ferry. You have to wait in line about an hour to drive onto the ferry. It takes about 10 minutes to cross on the ocean to where they unload. It was a fun experience.

You park your car and get out and climb to the observation deck to view the ocean.

This is a view of the ocean from the island you cross to get to on the ferry. There is a long story here about how Dad and I got completly lost, totally lost, pathetically lost on our trip to this island. It is actually a pennisula with a causeway and you can end up at least 100 miles from Galveston if you don't bring your GPS with you.

This is a picture of how they built their houses up on stilts on the island(pennisula) we traveled on . We saw these houses on our way to and from getting lost.

We had a great time in Galveston. It is hard to believe we've lived in Texas 35 years and this was the first time we made it to the Gulf of Mexico. Now I want to go to Padra Island, Corpus Christy, and all the other beach stops. I love the ocean!

Michael Jackson Abraham with a view of the ocean behind him. Thanks Michael for taking me to Galveston. We got to eat some great seafood, play at the ocean, and we even had a good time when we were lost because we were together. Together forever!!!!
