Celebrating our 39th Wedding Anniversary

Our anniversary was on Friday, the 23rd. On Saturday we went with Jared and Jamie and their boys to Dallas Arboretum. This is one of Dad's and my favorite places. It is huge and takes a good while to walk the whole thing. It's all flowers, fountains and trees.
This was an unusual flower. Look closely. There are flowers from all around the world there.

Colin and the roses.

This pretty looking cottage is an example of an old English style home. The roof is made of thatch and woven just like they did long ago.

The beautiful fish pond.

Just one of the many flowers blooming.

Dad playing with Jackson in one of the fountains.

We went inside a teepe and there were these animal skins hanging down.

There was this whole Texas Town Village with lots of houses like log cabins, sod home, a church.
The kids get to go inside and see what it was like to live back then. Jackson seemed to like this log cabin.

Outside you get to sit on an old atactor and also try your hand at plowing.

Jackson loved plowing. He went up and down several times.
We were all tired out when we got home. Dad and I were happy to be together with some family to celebrate our anniversary. You reflect back and can't believe that 39 years have passed by.
We look forward to many more years together and many more times together with family. Christy will be home mid-May. Nathan and Nicole will be back in Texas. We're going to see Michell this summer and can't wait to see Adam and Thomalee next week. We love you all so much.

Happy Anniversary! What a beautiful spot! I love how the trees bend over the path. The little cottage with the thatched roof is darling, and the flowers are beautiful. Looks like you had a great day!
