We went to Austin this past weekend to see Christy. Jared and Jamie drove down too and set up their tent. We had a great time taking in the sites of UT, camping and enjoying time away.

We had some great meals together. Christy took us to Baby Alcapoco for amazing Tex-Mex foods. We also enjoyed these handmade sandwiches. They know how to do food in Austin. Christy also took us to Froyoyo where they make the best frozen yogurt imaginable. Dad and I actually made two trips to Froyoyo, it was so good. Now you can view our pictures from the trip.

It's Bluebonnet time in Texas. We took a trip to Austin to see Christy and the Bluebonnets.

After driving down and setting up camp at McKinney Falls Stake Park we headed to Austin to spend the day with Chrisy. This is a portion of the floor at the Texas Museum.

Christy took us through the UT campus. Here is the gang in front of the clock tower.

Christy is a true Longhorn. She wore orange the whole time we were there. You've either got to just like burnt orange or buy into the idea. She seems to love attending UT, not to mention the fact that she has a nice boy that likes her who goes there too.

It rained on and off the whole time we were there, but we still enjoyed being out with the group.

Ordering lunch at the Mello Yellow Pizza. In Austin you can get all kinds of healthy food. This place served the best pizza! Mine had no sauce, but olive oil, sun-dried tomatoes and a sprinkle of parmeasan. The rest of them had "Meat Lovers" and BBQ.

Here she is inside her dorm room. She was proud to show us "her space." Next year she says he is moving to an apartment near the Institute Building which is close to campus.

That evening there was a terrible thunderstorm. Jamie and the boys sat in their tent, I was cozy in the van and Dad and Jared were out getting food and firewood. It took two hours to get this fire going! We were all determined to have a meal cooked over the fire. The hot dogs were great and then it was time for the smores.

Jackson enjoyed the whole marshellow, chocolate, graham craker experience. It was fun to witness his excitement for a camping experience that never gets old.

The next morning we went hiking through McKinney Falls State Park. Look how TEXAN Dad appears here. What a great picture!

Colin and Jackson in a field of Bluebonnets.

These are the Falls. Because of the rain there was lots of run-off.

Enjoying our time together.

Posing on the rock formations. The surface was rock and was all around us. It had lots of craters which reminded you of the moon. This was a fun place to visit.

Jackson with his bug catcher. He put a live snail inside.

Toting Colin along the hiking path. He traveled more in this position than upright. The trail to you to this amazing rock over hanging ledge, like the kind you see in Colorado and Utah. You could imagine the Indians living there above to the river.

A view of the continuation of the hiking path. Lots of catus, wildflowers and trees. It was so beautiful.

Here is another kind of beautiful. The Round Rock Texas sized donut. As much as I preach against unhealthy foods, I just can't say this is not good for you. It tastes too good. We had a good trip to Austin. Wwe go back in May to pick her up and bring her home for the summer which means another excuse to go get a donut.
