We recently broke down and paid to enter the Fort Worth Nature Center. Dad needed a safer place to ride his bike. This is where you'll find us on Saturday. We take in nature....

This plaque has probably been here for years, but now we take time to learn about the past. It tells the story of the CCC and how putting all these men to work on projects during the depression helped the country, but also helped them personally feel productive. I tried to imagine the crew of men working to lay the rock paths and trails at the Nature Center.

We feel good when we look at items that are older than we are. Do you remember the touch table with the box that you stuck your hand in and guessed what it contained?

We spend time with our grandkid. Jackson was sick, but Colin came with. He fell asleep as I did my 3 mile walk down the road.

We play with our new Blendtec. Dad made peanut butter from roasted peanuts. It smells good and has a true peanut taste.

We cook...I made this turkey pot pie with a sweet potato pastry crust.

We go to the store and spend $50 just to make shrimp and grits, because we saw it on the Food Network. Dad made it and it was delicious. You put bacon and lots of cheese in the grits.
We watch other creatures working hard and appreciate their efforts and enjoy the fact that we don't have to work so hard. This is the beehive inside and outside. You can see hundreds of bees doing their thing. I wash two loads of clothes each week. I fill the dishwasher every other day. I vacumn sometimes. I mopped the kitchen floor once a month. I spend more time grocery shopping and cooking, but now I can buy anything I want. LIFE IS GOOD!
