Mission Accomplished! We made it to the top of Diamond Head on Waikiki Beach. We're proud and we're smiling. My goal is to come back when we are 70 and climb it again.

A view of me coming down these steps. You wouldn't want to see the struggle up these hundreds of steps. I was proud I made it. We were both breathing pretty hard, but it was worth the 1.5 mile climb straight up the volcanoGood thing we went early in the morning.
Dad on one of the lookout posts. You can understand why this site would be used by the military to watch the harbor. You actually climb out of a steel bunker to view the overlook site.

That looks like the view you were looking for here in California - pure ocean as far as you can see - very cool.
Congrats on making the climb! Maybe I'll join you when you go back.
