Dad Has Bonfire

This is the bonfire in our backyard. Dad had this ingenious idea ( like he always does) of a new way to deal with a big problem. He had cut down a dead tree, we had fallen branches all over the yard, plus an eight foot tall by ten foot long pile of brush that had sat in the yard for two years.
He started burning and by the end of the day, everything was gone. He was surprised it worked so well. Jamie called Jared when she saw the fire and told him to bring hotdogs and marshemellows. Luckily we didn't need the fire department. Good job Dad.
Dad showed me the dead tree. I told him he better not be climbing the tree to cut it down. The next thing I see is a downed tree and he is swiging an an to cut the bigger logs. He doesn't like anyone to tell him he is old, so don't do something ( like climb on the roof and put up the Christmas lights.)

So here he is, my wonderful, strong, and hardworking hero. Since he was home on break and couldn't ride his bike he decided to do leaves in the front yard and all the leaves in the backyard. Behind him you see the empty ground where all the brush has been removed and burned. We never got our hotdog roast, but Dad still has the outdoor fireplace. Come on over some cold evening and he'll make a fire outside-just for fun. We've got lots of firewood now.
