Entering Cowley, Wyoming, only 75 miles from Billings, Montana. Pop. 560 on the sign. It should say at least 565 since the Horrocks moved into town last August. Zane said they got there the day before school started. All the boys said they liked school and they liked living in Cowley.

I was astounded at their backyard garden. This is the lettuce patch. I pay lots of money for my fancy lettuce and they just go outside and munch.

More of the garden. Michelle says it is a French style, circle garden. It was unbelievable! I was so proud of all of them for producing such a beautiful garden. They planted the end of May and they had all kinds of produce growing: beans, squash, tomatoes, carrots, corn etc.

Wyatt showed me his worm composting pile. What a guy after my own heart. We did talk worms.

We met their dog Allie. She is a registered herding breed. They will use her on their ranch.

I brought the boys caps from Texas: Rangers, Mavericks and Cowboys. They liked them.

Here are the Horrocks as we gathered on the street to watch the parade.

We joined Stacy's family for the BBQ lunch. Michelle is sitting next to Stacy's Mom and his sister who both live in Cowley. We met her other sister, Vicki who lives there also. She has 7 kids.

The parade was great and had floats from the Church, lots of horses, antique cars, some great fiddlers and some festive dancing girls.

Dad and I liked this car.

We liked this car even more. It was in the car show and we voted it Best of Show.

Here is a happy group at the rodeo after the parade and picnic. It was actually hot sitting out there. It was entertaining, especially the part where these two and three year olds try to stay on a sheep as it comes out of the shoot. Next year the Horrock boys said they would be in the show.

Stacy took us out to see the ranch land. It is a hugh piece of land. Their goal is to get some kind of grass to grow on this dry, salty soil. Stacy goes out everyday to water the grass they've planted.

Good Luck all of you. Look how big Caleb is. He drove us out to the land in the truck. He was elected Class President for this next year. As we understand it, the Horrocks have three years to show that the land can produce a profit, then they will have the option to buy all 1500 acres. It will be alot of work, but they all seem up to the challenge. We are proud of all of you.
